Migration
How we carry the legacy site forward, with a decision for every piece
Every piece gets a decision, so nothing slips away unnoticed. Everything the legacy site does, visible content and behind-the-scenes functionality alike, is inventoried, and each piece either carries forward or gets dropped on purpose (an advertising tag from an ended campaign, for example).
A lot of what a website does isn't obvious from the pages themselves. Donation processing, email signups, redirects, analytics, the dining center locator, accessibility and translation tools: all foundational, and all easy to overlook precisely because they're invisible when they work. This section decides what happens to each of them. Third-Party Services covers how the ones that stay actually work.
